Neighbors

I was washing dishes on Tuesday and glanced out the window. One of our neighbors from up on the hill decided to come calling. I stepped out on the porch and took some photos. We had a nice conversation and I told her that I didn't mind her munching on the grass beside the driveway. I just didn't want her to start munching on my garden. I told her to be sure and spread the word to all her family and friends.

Up on the hill behind the house we have all kinds of critters living. We have deer, fox, coyote, cougar, bear, wild turkeys, owls, bats, eagles, hawks, and raccoons that we have had visit us since we have lived here. I'm still trying to get a photo of the cougar. Last year it was just up the hill a little ways and just as I went to snap the photo it leaped across a brush pile and disappeared.

The most important thing to remember is that we are living in their territory and we have to respect them. We do not bother them and they in turn do not bother us. We are cautious when we go outdoors after dark or early morning.
