Camping Quilt

Here's the Camping Quilt that I just finished in time for our camping trip this weekend. I took orphaned blocks, bits and pieces of scraps and sewed them together. Then I cut strips out of the pieces and sewed them back together to make my quilt. It has a heavy flannel blanket for the lining/backing.

I'm almost ready for our camping trip. I just have to pack the goodies and then on Saturday morning fill the ice chests. We will be sleeping in our van on Saturday night. We have a mattress that we toss in the back of the van after taking out both seats. We have dark tinted windows so I don't have to make curtains for it. Just have to throw a blanket over the backs of the front seats for privacy.

We are meeting Dad and Mae and 2 sisters and their families for the weekend. I have 2-3 uncles and their families that will be there too! My one uncle sets up a huge tent for cooking and extra beds. Dad and Mae have been up at the lake since May 1st and will be there until around the 19th. This is a annual trip that they make every year. This will be our first time to go up to the lake and camp with them. Poor Rich.........he doesn't like camping. His idea of camping is staying at Motel 6. Me......I love to camp. I would be happy with just the tent, sleeping bag and campfire.

I love the quilt of many colors..have a wonderful time and be careful...on the question you asked about dying fabric for stitcherys before or after I do both..I didn't notice much of a change in the colors..but it will make them more prim and not so bright which is what you want in primtives..have a great weekend and pack your camera..:)

Hi Shirly, I saw on the Yahoo group "Seasons BOM" that you are in southern Oregon. Was just wondering where bouts so went to your blog. I'm just north of Roseburg a short ways.Do go south to our son's, in Klamath Falls, once in a while. Also saw that you enjoy doing a lot of the same things that I do, including camping. Made a quilt from jeans and the pockets of jeans for our camping quilt.
